You couldn’t tell if you looked around most of Who Dat Nation, but the Saints have one more game remaining this season. The week 17 finale against Tampa holds several playoff implications. With a loss, the Saints would be in a position to draft as low as 8th, and with a win the team would draft at least 10th.

  • Sunday’s loss was tough on both the fans and the team.  Junior Galette emphasized this in his post-game comments. “It sucks. We lost. Terrible year,” linebacker Galette said, per ESPN.com. “I thought we’d be happy in the locker room right now, celebrating. Instead, it feels like a funeral in here.”

This upcoming game is also big for Galette in terms of his contract and finances. He needs to record three sacks Sunday to earn $6.5 million in bonuses over the course of the next few years.

The magic number for Galette is 12, and he of course currently sits at 9 for the season. While he hasn’t had a problem forcing pressure on the quarterback (ranking in the top of the league in pressures forced), it has been difficult to bring the quarterback down.

Commenting on the possibility of earning the bonus, Galette said ““Of course, I’m human, everybody loves more money. But at the end of the day, If I don’t get it, it wasn’t meant for me to have.” Whether or not he earns his bonus, it certainly is an incentive to continue to play hard to the very last whistle of the 2014 season.

Kenny Vaccaro is facing money issues of a different kind this week as he was fined $10,000.00 for a late hit on Steven Jackson, RB for the Falcons. Vaccaro is appealing the fine and attributes it to finishing the play. “At the same time if I don’t do that, I’m not hustling, I’m not finishing the play.”

The Saints are set to play the Buccaneers this Sunday at 12:00 P.M. and will be televised on Fox. Below is the injury report released today by the Saints.
