Saints Add WR Kennedy and DE Wren As UDFA’s
The New Orleans Saints are still working on signing undrafted free agents as the weekend continues adding a wide receiver and defensive end to the mix.
WR Malcome Kennedy, Texas A&M
In combing through scouting reports on Kennedy one word keeps popping up…”slot”.
At 6’0″, 205 lbs., Kennedy is said not to possess blazing speed but is more designed to work the middle of the field.

For his Pro Day he ran a 4.56 40-yard dash, had 10 reps on bench press, 31.5 inch vertical, and a 119 inch broad jump.

Another few words I saw in scouting reports are one’s that head coach Sean Payton has emphasized repeatedly they’re looking for, “tough” and “intelligent”.
For his career Kennedy has 143 catches for 1,612 yards and 13 touchdowns.
DE Sam Wren, Oklahoma State
According to Wren’s profile on Oklahoma State’s Official Athletic page, Wren is 6’2″, 255 lb. “pass rush specialist”.
He transferred from Arizona West Community College in 2013 where he was inserted into the lineup and had 22 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, half a sack, and a forced fumble.

For the 2014 season he had 25 tackles with 7 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, and 3 QB hurries.
According to NFL.com, Wren didn’t show up to his Pro Day after having undergone knee surgery.
While listed as a defensive end, Wren may be asked to work at outside linebacker for the Saints.
