“Fantasy Football”. By chance if you’ve never played it, it’s a glorious game in which NFL players’ actions on the field impacts the lives of fans off the field — perhaps more than some would care to admit.

But fear not. Fantasy Football lovers, here is your first advice on navigating the fantasy minefield that is the New Orleans Saints offense.

It’s almost that time of year again. Training camp is less than a month away, and the official kickoff to the NFL season is less than two months out.

For all you fantasy players out there, now is the time when leagues are won and lost. While the players are out in the summer heat, grinding away, working to get better each day, so too must you be, doing your due diligence, scouring the press for any glimmer of information, running the numbers.

“Now is the time (Fantasy Football drafts in July and August) when leagues are won and lost.”

It’s thankless, grueling work, but if you persevere, you may be rewarded with a Fantasy title at the end of your struggle, and time-honored bragging rights over friends and co-workers.

Speaking as a two-time fantasy champion myself, never forget, “Once a fantasy champion, always a fantasy champion.”

Unfortunately, the Saints have long been one of the trickier teams to predict when it comes to fantasy football. Just ask the fans who made the mistake of drafting C.J. Spiller last season, or Marques Colston.

Much like picking a bust in the 1st round can have disastrous consequences for a team, so too can drafting the wrong Saint. But fear not fantasy players, I’m here to serve as your guide through the wilderness.

Fail to heed my warnings if you must, but be forewarned, the path into temptation is filled with a siren’s calls, and the Saints offer more fantasy temptation than most.

So without further ado, let us begin our journey through the swamp of Saints top fantasy players. If you disagree, feel free to let me know why in the comment section. But in the end, I’ll probably have the last laugh…
