Drew Brees sat out the Black and Gold game on Saturday due to oblique injury. two days of practice. “I don’t think its anything too serious, and its a matter of just making sure he’s healthy,” Payton said when pressed about Bailey’s injury. “I do expect him back soon but I would rather not put a time on it.” Jarius Byrd was dressed in pads and participated in individual warmups, but did not make an appearance in Saturday’s scrimmage. According to Payton, the team wants to be cautious when working Byrd back into everything, after he returned earlier in the week from back surgery.
