This might be more realistic for the Saints if McBride is taken and the Saints could still get some value with Lewis.

I’ve watched Lewis play in the Southland Conference against my alma mater Southeastern La. University and he was always a concern if you were a defender.

But that will be the knock against Lewis is that he played at a “lower level of competition” while at UCA.

Lewis is another big receiver at 6’4″, 215 lbs. who knows how to high point the ball and make tough catches.

He ran a 4.46 40-yard dash at his Pro Day and had a 37 inch vertical while posting 16 reps on bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Draft analyst Mike Detillier said this in his scouting report on Lewis:

"Lewis is an excellent athlete with great length, long arms, and he has deceptive deep speed.  Dezmin has outstanding leaping and timing skills with the ball in flight.  Very solid downfield blocker…more fast than quick."
