Nick O’Leary, Florida State

For some reason I keep coming back to O’Leary although it may not be a popular pick due to his recent injuries.

He was someone that made his former teammate and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston look good.

O’Leary worked his tale of making tough catches to bail Winston out whenever he got into trouble on the field.

The 6’3″, 250 lb. O’Leary is often referred to as a “throwback tight end”…doesn’t wear gloves and willing to do whatever is asked of him no matter how dirty he has to get.

NFL.com’s assesment says:

"Stepped up and bolstered pass protection in fourth quarter of win against Notre Dame. Uses good technique as a run blocker and will win against players his size. Slides feet and keeps rusher squared in pass protection. Possesses strong hands. Rarely has a drop and works for tough yardage after the catch."

The comparison they gave him was current Denver Broncos tight end James Casey who I mentioned the Saints should have signed in free agency.
