The New Orleans Saints hit the phones following the 2015 NFL Draft, coming away with some possible hidden gems — known otherwise as UDFA’s ………….

1.  Clemson defensive end Tavaris Barnes was the first to sign with the Saints and will join his fellow teammate, first round draft pick Stephone Anthony.

At 6’4″, 282 lbs. Barnes is viewed as still a developing player and situational pass rusher.  He posted a 4.82 40-yard dash and did 22 reps on bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine.

2.  Stephon Sanders of SMU is a 6’3″, 250 linebacker who has had 230 tackles which 32.5 of those for a loss, 12 passes broken up, 2 interceptions, and 9 sacks.

3.  Markus Pierce-Brewster of West Texas A&M is a 6’3″, 243 lbs linebacker that formally played for Syracuse according to the school website.  No stats were currently shown or found for Brewster.

4.  Doniel Gambrell of Notre Dame College is a 6’6″, 315 lb. tackle that is currently married with three children and NFL.com said scouts praise him for his “maturity and leadership”.  Also said he could be a NFL starter but needs work on his technique.

5.  Cyril Lemon of North Texas is another big offensive lineman at 6’3″, 304 lbs.  CBS Sports Dane Brugler has called “underrated” and has “traits that translate well to the pros”.

6.  R.J. Harris of New Hampshire breaks the wide receiver drought for the Saints following the draft.  Harris is 6’0″, 201 lbs. and according to his player bio has 310 receptions, 4,328 receiving yards, and 36 touchdowns for his career.

8.  Sean Hickey of Syracuse is an offensive lineman being brought in for a look at guard.  While he posted 35 reps on bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine, this scouting report is not too kind on him from NFL.com.

9.  Kaleb Eulls is a defensive tackle from Mississippi State that actually visited with the Saints prior to the draft.  At 6’4″, 295 lbs. he’s labeled as mainly a backup if he makes it into the NFL but is someone who draft analyst Mike Detillier calls “blue-collar” and “always gives you an honest day of work”.  He has 118 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, and 4 sacks for his career.

10.  Jack Tabb of the University of North Carolina is the second tight end the Saints snagged in undrafted free agency.  The 6’3″, 250 lb. Tabb has 47 receptions, 534 receiving yards, and 5 touchdowns for his career.
