The New Orleans Saints have extend an invite to several undrafted players to try out at their upcoming rookie mini-camp May 15-17.

–As previously reported North Dakota State kicker Adam Keller will be headed to New Orleans after a try out for the Minnesota Vikings.

–Oklahoma State defensive end Sam Wren, reported at first to be signed as an undrafted free agent, is now going to be another invite to mini-camp.

–Linebacker Justin Anderson, of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, is actually trying to gain a second chance in the NFL after going undrafted last year.

The former Ragin Cajun spent time with the New York Giants on their practice squad before being signed to their active roster for Week 11 and Week 12.

Ironically, Anderson was brought up to the active roster after the Giants waived former Saints tackle Charles Brown.

He was then waived by the Giants and picked up by the Minnesota Vikings, spending time on their practice squad before they waived him during the offseason.

While the 6’2″, 232 lb. Anderson didn’t log any regular season stats in the NFL, he was a great defender during his college career with 270 tackles with 24 for a loss, 3.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 4 forced fumbles.

Anderson lead the Cajuns defense with over 105 tackles for his 2013 junior season and 131 tackles for his 2014 senior season.

For his Pro Day last year he registered a 4.68 40-yard dash, 37 inch vertical, 121 inch broad jump, and 24 reps on bench press.

–Running back Rob Hollomon of Central Connecticut State will try to impress coaches although he’s small in stature at 5’8″, 170 lbs.

Holloman was previously at Kent State before coming to the Blue Devils where he was a jack-of-all-trades on the offense.

For his career at CCSU Hollomon had 725 rushing attempts for 3,672 yards and 30 touchdowns, 82 receptions for 773 yards and 2 touchdowns, 55 kick returns for 1,300 yards and 1 touchdown, and 13 punt returns for 63 yards.

What will dazzle you about Hollomon is he averaged 111.3 yards a game rushing and at least 23.6 yards on kick returns.

The thing that won’t is that he had at least 4 fumbles each of his three seasons for a total of 13, losing 9 of them.

At his Pro Day Hollomon ran a 4.41 40-yard dash, posted a 38.5 inch vertical, a 123 inch broad jump, and did 13 reps on bench press….
