Brian Shaw is strangely a lot like Monty Williams. He was a veteran player in the league, turned defensive assistant, turned young head coach with a fast paced roster.

Shaw coached the Nuggets last season before being fired. He was trying to play at a slow half court pace with a young athletic roster… and Monty Williams was fired for basically the exact same reason.

He has a good relationship with Gentry, and could make a perfect defensive coordinator.

Reports have come out that he might join Steve Kerr’s staff, but hopefully Gentry could sway him to New Orleans.
