4.  The Defensive Front 7 is Thin

This is one place the team can not afford an injury. When Trovonte Valentine, Maquedius Bain and Clifton Garret all washed out of the program LSU’s depth at Tackle, End and Inside linebacker washed out with them.

Expected contributions from Freshmen Arden Key and Isiah Washington will help some at end, but both are lean, rangy pass rusher types, not heavy hitters like Bain. There are some young DT’s on the team who will help out inside, but depth is an issue.

Depth at inside or middle LB (is it a 4-3 or 3-4?) is nonexistent. An injury on the defensive front could be devastating, it will be a concern all year unless one of the youngsters develops quickly enough to step up.
