5.  The Jeff Grimes Era Is Upon Us

When Coach Jeff Grimes was hired, a lot of LSU fans celebrated.

Fairly or not his predecessor was blamed for the team missing out on some high profile line recruits over the last several years. The offensive line was not producing high draft picks at the rate some other position groups were and that was noticed as well.

Jeff Grimes had a reputation as a top recruiter, and had developed multiple linemen into NFL players.

He has turned LSU into a recruiting destination for high school linemen already. On the field, it looks like he has turned his unit into the strength of the team.

The starting group of Jerald Hawkins, Ethan Pocic, Will Clapp, Josh Boutte and Vadal Alexander could be the best line LSU has fielded in years. They are all very big, very athletic, and highly intelligent.

All 5 can be considered legit NFL prospects. There is also great depth behind them, and a tremendous freshman group ready to take up the baton in their turn.

There will be a lot of meat on the bone every time Leonard Fournette takes a handoff this year, and offensive line will be a strength at LSU for years………….
