The most high profile UDFA (undrafted free agent) in NFL history has been making news in Dallas without actually making any news.

He hasn’t earned a starting role yet, at least.

Still, the media following the Cowboys have been pretty keen to offer updates on the burgeoning battle between La’el Collins and returning starter Ron Leary for the Cowboys Left Guard position.

The Dallas Morning News mentioned Collins in this article and had nice things to say about former LSU Tiger Morris Claiborne as well. Claiborne is coming back from a major knee injury but has had a good camp.

Bleacher Report put together this Video on the position battle between Leary and Collins.

The Dallas NBC affiliate also posted an article on the competition, mentioning that Collins will get playing time against San Diego Thursday night in the Cowboys first preseason game.
