If you really want to know how Danielle Hunter is doing the best person to ask right now would be Andre Patterson, his defensive line coach.

The Minnesota Vikings website did exactly that, posting this long inteview with Coach Patterson where he compares hunter to Elvis Dumervil (among other things). It’s a great vid, well worth the time to watch.

If you missed the Hall of Fame Game between the Vikings and Steelers you missed seeing Danielle Hunter—-a lot.

He played over 60 snaps in that game, more than any other Minnesota defender as noted in this article on Fox Sports. This ESPN 1500 radio article quoted Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer on Hunter.

“He had some good plays and bad plays,” Zimmer said. “He’s got to come off the ball lower than what he is. He’s not usually using his speed enough to threaten the offensive linemen, he’s raising up and he’s been doing that a week and we’re trying to correct that. We’ve worked real hard on his angles and hand placement, but we have to get him to understand speed is what threatens them.”
