Eight months ago, two names you heard about constantly that were supposed to bring a new dynamic to the Saints receiving corps was Brandon Coleman and Jones.

Now the only name that is getting associated with some praise has mainly been Coleman with Jones falling by the wayside.

In twelve passing plays last Thursday, Jones was only targeted twice and he caught one pass for five yards.

Not a stat that will set the depth chart on fire moving forward, especially at a crowded wide receiver group.

Fellow receiver Willie Snead has been getting more reps as well as making catches that seem almost impossible while being tightly covered.

Other players pushing for a spot in the group are Josh Morgan, Joe Morgan, as well as Nick Toon who is trying to shed his image of being Adrian Arrington 2.0.

At 6-3, 200 lbs., Jones is the big receiver that the Saints are hoping could be another hidden gem that they are known for finding.

This past week of practice has seen Jones running with the first team offense and making some nice catches.

But to be able to shine, Jones will need to dazzle the coaching staff with a little bit more than we saw against the Ravens……..
