DeSean Smith Needs Reps!

Dillon Gordon is an outstanding player, but the Tigers starting Tight End is a pure run blocking machine. when he’s in he is blocking for Fournette, or staying in to pass block while the Tigers QB’s try to target fewer targets on lower percentage passes.
DeSean Smith is a good blocker in his own right, but he’s an outstanding down the field threat with tremendous speed and excellent hands. when he is in the Tigers have one more target for the defense to account for in the passing game, and LSU’s QB’s have another man with a chance to get open for easy throws.
If Dillon Gordon monopolizes the reps at Tight End the Tigers will be limited in the passing game. The more we see DeSean Smith on the field the more the team is committing to spreading the ball around and letting Brandon Harris make plays with his arm.
