High: The Fullback and TE’s are Impressive

Dillon Gordon has proven that he is a legit NFL prospect in spite of the fact that he rarely catches a pass. One thing that he is not is afraid to “lay the wood” on an opponent.

Meantime, Fullback John David Moore has been an outstanding down field blocker in his first season as starter. He has quietly been a key contributor in the Tigers offense.

Low: The lack of depth behind Gordon and Moore could be an issue
Dillon Gordon missed the Syracuse game with an injury and his absence was noticed. Fournette had his usual great game but the Orangemen were able to tackle him for a loss multiple times during the game. QB Brandon Harris also felt some pressure from the Syracuse Front 7.

Colin Jeter played well in Gordon’s absence but he isn’t quite the blocker Gordon is. DeSean Smith is more of a pure receiver.

John David Moore doesn’t have a proven backup. With a series of SEC games coming up against opponents with big, athletic defensive fronts getting Dillon Gordon back and keeping John David Moore healthy are real concerns.
