With all the much deserved hype Leonard Fournette is earning with his play week in and week out it’s sometimes easy to forget he isn’t the only highly touted 5-Star recruit in the LSU backfield.
Derrius Guice is very close to Fournette in talent, something he showed against Auburn when he rushed for 55 yards on only 6 carries.
That 9.2 yards per carry average isn’t a phantom either, even taking out one big run he broke Guice would have averaged 5 yards every time he touched the ball.
Tiger fans want to see as much of Leonard Fournette as they can feast their eyes on. Still it’s a long season and rotating the backs is just a smart precaution.
Darrell Williams is a good backup for Fournette but Derrius Guice gives the Tigers a three headed monster at tailback where the third option has the talent to be just as electric as the first two.
More Fournette means more excitement, but more Guice is pretty good for business…..
