It’s a long season and there is a lot of football left to play. LSU has been fairly lucky so far. In spite of a couple of injuries to key personnel they haven’t had the kind of rash of injuries that has them scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Still, you know they will need depth sooner or later, or maybe sooner AND later. Getting game reps for second and third stringers as they prepare for a long stretch of tough games is important, and that was one job they accomplished tonight.

Dislike: Playing the Backups Too Soon
As much as I like seeing guys like Sione Teuhema and Duke Riley getting some game experience seeing them come in during the first quarter with the game still undecided might have been too much of a good thing.

With a group of second and third stringers in the game in the first quarter with the Tigers ahead only 14-0 Eastern Michigan was able to march right down the field on LSU.

The coaching staff started pulling their starters way to soon and as a result they left Eastern Michigan hanging in this game for way too long.
