Top Offense Likes: Fantastic second quarter, Another Big Passing Day for Harris, more Fournette highlights
The second quarter was an LSU blowout featuring multiple scores from Leonard Fournette, multiple big plays from Brandon Harris to Malachi Dupre and the Tigers generally taking complete control of the Gators and the game.
Brandon Harris had another big day, breaking the 20 yard mark for the second season while completing 68% of his passes and throwing for two touchdowns.
Fournette was fantastic as always. In addition to logging two touchdowns in the Tigers great 2nd quarter, including one from the wildcat, he racked up 180 gritty yards.
His best run of the night might have been one of his last, a short run over the right side where he was met before the first down line and knocked multiple Florida defenders out of his way to get a first down and take LSU out of the shadow of their own goalpost.
Top Offense Dislikes: Quiet Second Half, Quiet Second Half, Quiet Second Half
LSU had six possessions in the second half. They punted the ball on five of them. Of the five possessions that ended in punts they got only one first down, the other four were three and outs.
Three of Brandon Harris four incompletions for the game were on these bad second half series, only one of his completions was.
Getting more from Brandon Harris is great, but he still hasn’t built up the kind of short safe passing plays he can use to get himself out of trouble in tight games.
