A Look at How LSU Rookies Have Fared In the NFL for 2015

Jalen Collins, Atlanta Falcons
November 8, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton (11) runs with the football against Atlanta Falcons cornerback Jalen Collins (32) during the first quarter at Levi
The theme of LSU’s most recent draft class has been incredible athleticism but players were drafted as projects because of lack of production. Jalen Collins certainly fits that bill.
Falcons coaches have been impressed with Collins athleticism from day one but were resolved to bringing him on slowly as a rookie. And then as is so often the case in the NFL injuries occurred and Collins was thrust into the lineup.
Bringing him along slowly must have been a good idea because Colins has performed well over the last month, better than some expected.
It hasn’t all been perfect, he was ripped in the Atlanta press after a rough outing that included a pass interference call but overall Jalen Collins is developing at a good pace.
Or perhaps for a lack of a better term: he’s “coming along slowly”………
