3 Players The Saints SHOULD NOT Draft

Robert Nkemdiche, Defensive Tackle, Ole Miss

If you would have told me 2 months ago that Robert Nkedimche would be available to the Saints at pick #12, I would have said it’s a “no-brainer” and they should run — not walk — to the podium to put the pick in.

It’s crazy how things change in just a couple short months. Once being a “lock” to he picked in the Top 10 in the draft, now there are questions if he will even be drafted in the first round at all.

What happened to change opinion on Nkedimche so quickly?

Well, for one thing: he fell out of a 4th floor window in an Atlanta hotel. According to reports he was paranoid due to smoking synthetic marijuana and convinced someone was chasing him — when he went through a double paned window and fell 15 feet to the ground.

Needless to say this incident is a HUGE red flag to teams who were interested in drafting him, which I’m sure the Saints were one of them.

The last thing the Saints need to do is bring in a player who could possibly hurt the locker room and has questions with his character.

After all of last offseason being based on cleaning up the locker room and getting players that were a “cancer” to the locker room out of the organization, drafting Nkedimche would be completely opposite of what the Saints’ goal was last offseason.

Even though Nkemdiche is a huge force on the defensive line, as well as a huge position of “need” for the Saints; with this player in my opinion, the negatives outweigh the positives and it is not worth the risk.
