Anybody remember Rob Ryan? With him now in Buffalo, the Saints now have a pretty good connection to the Bills organization.
Buffalo is another team who could be in the market for Paxton Lynch in the draft. They have Tyrod Taylor who played well last year, but do they think he is the answer long-term?
If Tyrod does keep the starting quarterback job, it may be even better for Lynch who could sit behind Taylor for 2 years and learn the system.
Lynch, who has all the intangibles of an NFL quarterback, is said to lack the necessary IQ for the position at the pro level as of this moment — and if he gets drafted to Buffalo, he could sit for a couple of years and refine his craft.
This trade would then give the Saints a second pick in round 3. They would be on the clock almost back-to-back, with them having pick #78 already. Only the Eagles at #79 would be in between the two picks.
With the way the Saints drafted last year with Jeff Ireland at the helm, an extra 3rd round pick could bring the Saints a good young player.
With that drop off at talent after the first 10 picks, the Saints can drop down seven spots and still get a tier 2 player, and snatch another 3rd round pick.
