The Cardinals are my pick to win the NFC next year at this point in time. They have a really good receiving corps, a veteran quarterback who played good last year, and a tremendous defense.
The Cardinals came out the gates last year and handed the Saints a loss in Week #1 of the season last year.
I do not see the Cardinals dropping off any this year. They have LSU alumni Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu to lead the secondary and veteran quarterback Carson Palmer to lead the offense. This very well could be the toughest game on the Saints 2016 schedule.
Brees will have his work cut out for him against one of the best secondaries in the league and the defense will have their hands full against one of the most potent offenses in the league.
For a chance to win this game the biggest key for the Saints will be to force turnovers. Keep Palmer uncomfortable in the pocket and make him make bad decisions.
The Cardinals prove to be too tough for the Saints, though; and take this one in nearly identical fashion as last year’s game.
Prediction: Cardinals 31, Saints 21
Record: 8-6
