Training camp has begun and Drew Brees still hasn’t worked out an extension with the Saints. Brees has self-imposed a deadline of the start of the regular season. The clock is ticking…
$30 million dollars.
That’s how big Drew Brees’ cap hit will be for the Saints in 2016.

Bad personnel decisions and dead money are the worst culprits, however, the current situation is the height of absurdity.
“Drew Brees has repeatedly stated that he wants to finish his career in New Orleans”

Drew Brees has repeatedly stated that he wants to finish his career in New Orleans. He is the best quarterback in franchise history, and a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer.
From the Saints perspective he is still producing at an elite level, and he is showing no signs of slowing down.
Last week, ESPN reported that Drew Brees and the Saints hadn’t resumed contract talks in 3 months. This is the height of stupidity, and will only negatively impact the Saints moving forward.
Here are the top 5 reasons why it is absolutely critical that the Saints extend Brees’ deal right NOW.
