Memphis first-year Coach Mike Norvell replaces Justin Fuente ,who left for the Virginia Tech head coaching job.

Norvell, the Tigers offensive coordinator under Fuente, will have the task of replacing QB Paxton Lynch — who is in the NFL now with the Denver Broncos.

The Tigers will be a run-based offense, until one of their potential QB’s steps up and takes the reigns.

But defensively the Tigers are an experienced group, with 8 returning starters. Punishing hybrid LB Jackson Dillon leads the defense.

In the end, they punish the Wave at Yulman Stadium on a NOLA Friday Night.
