1. Drew Brees Wins His First MVP

It’s a little hard to believe that with the hall-of-fame career Brees has enjoyed with the Saints, he has never won an MVP.

However, this year is different, and the Saints have more talent on the offensive side of the ball than they have ever had before. Coby Fleener will fill the role of the departed Jimmy Graham and Ben Watson, providing a big target with speed, ripping open the seams of opposing defenses.

Willie Snead will do what he does and continue to make plays. Think of him as an upgraded Lance Moore, when the game is on the line, and the Saints have to have a third down conversion, Snead will be the man Brees looks for first.

As mentioned before, Cooks will have a breakout season, but Michael Thomas will also announce his entrance to the NFL with authority. “Can’t Guard Mike” will live up to his Twitter handle and will be in the running for Rookie of the Year honors.

The only question mark on the offensive side of the ball is the offensive line. The signing of Jahri Evans gives the Saints another option as a viable offensive starter at guard.

While the line will struggle at times, the Saints will adapt, and C.J. Spiller will emerge as a force catching passes out of the backfield. This will cause teams to pick and choose when they bring pressure, and the line will be good enough to keep Brees upright long enough.

If all of these things come to pass, it will be a great and historic season for the Saints.

If I could only pick one, I would pick #3, the Saints being a top 10 defense in turnovers. If they can manage to improve significantly on defense, while it may or may not be enough to win the division, with the Saints offensive prowess, it should be enough to make the playoffs.

Tomorrow can’t come soon enough….
