#3 COBY FLEENER, TIGHT END

Much has been made about Fleener’s slow development within the Saints offensive system, in which he allegedly still hadn’t even digested the Saints offensive playbook by the time the season had started.

Coby had what looked to be a breakout performance against the Falcons in Week 3, only to follow it up with another near “no-show” the next week against San Diego.

With all the talented targets in Drew Brees’ arsenal; the prized free agent signee doesn’t necessary have to put up the stat-line he did against Atlanta (7 catches, 129 yards and a TD).

What he does need to do though, is prove that he can be a consistently viable threat in the passing game.

The Saints have invested heavily in Fleener, and they’re hoping that he doesn’t turn out to be the next Brandon Browner or C.J. Spiller — other notable free agents that quickly turned out to be “busts” in New Orleans.
