Could the Tigers “run the table” and win out?

Maybe.

In all likelihood, they drop at least one game (Bama?) and eliminate themselves from the playoff conversation. However, this team has a different feel to it with Orgeron at the helm.

The offensive line is finally healthy and the defense is playing at a high level. The Tigers will have to play flawlessly throughout the last part of the season, as they have one of the toughest 4 game stretches of any team in the country.

The ‘fan’ in me wants to believe it can be done, but the call-it-like-I-see-it journalist for Big Easy Believer in me feels that LSU will end up 8-4 (including a bowl win) but outside of the playoffs.

As far as Coach O goes, I would like to see the university retain him and his staff.

I think the players believe in him and so do the fans. This also happens to be a rare case for LSU to attract a “top tier” coaching talent.

Regardless, Joe Aleva and the decision makers at the university will have a tough choice at season’s end…….
