FINAL SCORE PREDICTION

The Denver Broncos have surrendered the most points in the NFL on opponents’ first drives, and have struggled in the first quarter in particular. Conversely, the New Orleans Saints offense has been among the most prolific at scoring on their first drive.

I look for the Saints to have a double digit first quarter lead, and for them to effectively attack the Denver defense from all angles.

The Saints defense will likely give up some yards, even against this somewhat struggling Denver offense, but will stiffen at key moments and force a couple key turnovers.

Points will be hard-earned, but Brees and company will benefit from a couple big plays down the field and a few “short field” opportunities.

Although they entered into this contest as only a slight 3-point favorite, the Saints end up “whipping” the Broncos when all is finally said and done.

Consequently: the Saints show that they belong with the “big boys” of the NFL, after this game…..
