SUPER BOWL GLORY
Let’s go ahead and get this out of the way: by NO means is this to suggest that the Saints should be “satisfied” or complacent with the Super Bowl victory following the 2009 season.
After all: the Saints win over the Indianapolis Colts was nearly SEVEN YEARS AGO, and SIX MORE DIFFERENT teams have won a Super Bowl since New Orleans did.
It’s pretty funny when some Saints fans always seem to bring up that Super Bowl win, usually when they’re engaged in arguments with fans of other teams — especially a team that has never savored that kind of victory before (looking towards a certain city in the state of Georgia).
But the one undeniable fact is this: every single long-suffering fan in the entire 50 year history of the New Orleans Saints will remember, recall, and replay the 2009 season with a huge smile on their face.
It’s their God-given right — after having to endure the unspeakable pain and humiliation of a franchise that once upon a time, was the VERY WORST in all of professional sports.
