Not So Special: the Saints Special Teams

Saints fans may hope that the words “special teams” do not get uttered at all during the post game analysis of this contest.

New Orleans’ special teams woes have been a comedy of errors for the majority of the season. One can make a valid case for pointing at this unit as directly responsible for three of their losses this season.

On the flip side, the Rams are actually incredibly dangerous on special teams.

Jeff Fisher has never been opposed to calling for a fake punt or field goal, their kicking game is highly consistent, and their return game is extremely dangerous, led by WR/ kick returner Tavon Austin.

This match up alone will have Saints fans on the edge of their seats.
