LOSER: ZACH STRIEF, RIGHT TACKLE
Strief, who was almost a weekly fixture on this list last year as a “loser”, has managed to either stay off of the list altogether or even finally appear on it as a “winner” this year — and has managed to have an unexpectedly good season this year after last season’s well-documented struggles.
However, yesterday he took a step back.
Strief — who as we know has notably struggled with speed rushers during his NFL career, was beaten BADLY by Cardinals OLB Markus Golden — resulting in a sack and a strip of Drew Brees that Arizona defensive end Callais Campbell scooped up and returned 53 yards for a TD.
Strief also “whiffed” while trying to tackle Campbell on the play, which just made the moment worse. For Strief, who we’ve been very nice to after we were accused of being “too rough” on him last year, it was an off-performance in an otherwise solid season for the 11 year veteran.
