WINNER: CAMERON JORDAN, DEFENSIVE END

The Saints defense didn’t exactly have one of its better performances of the season yesterday, yielding 34 of the Cardinals’ 41 points and giving up over 400 plus yards of total offense.

But not surprisingly, once again the unit received another stand-out performance from defensive end Cameron Jordan.

Jordan — whom it was revealed this past week by Sports Illustrated that he had played nearly the entire first half of the season with a severe ACL sprain — was at it again yesterday, with a sack and 2 tackles for loss, making his presence felt despite the “off day” overall for the entire unit as a whole.

Jordan remains the defense’s most valuable player, and if the Saints can add an edge pass rusher in next April’s draft to complement Jordan from the opposite side, we could potentially see even bigger and better things from him next year. Like a fine wine, Jordan continues to get better with age.
