A SUITCASE AND A FREE AIRLINE TICKET FOR SAFETY JAIRUS BYRD

With apologies to the dysfunction that was the “Brandon Browner experience” of 2015, Byrd is probably the WORST free agent in New Orleans Saints history.

There is a large portion of the Who Dat Nation that would not only donate the suitcases, but also help Byrd pack and give him a ride out of town.

Coach Sean Payton said recently that Byrd has been playing his ‘best football as a Saint’.

One can only conclude that is only because #31 is NOT showing up on the opposition’s highlights flailing away helplessly at opposing players after yet another pitiful angle and pathetic effort.

In a classic case of addition by subtraction, the Saints organization would be wise to part ways with Byrd in the off-season despite the additional cost of “dead money” they would incur — and this also in spite of the fact that Byrd has actually given a decent performance (2 and a half years AFTER his arrival) during the 2nd half of this season.

Jairus Byrd is only the worst example of poor free agent decisions by the New Orleans front office that have plagued the team in recent years.

There is, however, some signs that this may be changing for the better….
