MATURITY FOR BRANDIN COOKS, MARK INGRAM, AND STEPHONE ANTHONY
Please dont misunderstand; Mark Ingram and Brandin Cooks have had very good seasons, and they are NOT the locker room disruptions that destroyed the 2014 team.
Both players, however, have had their behavior questioned at times this year; either on the sideline or in comments made off the field.
In both players’ cases, it was far overblown, but only in hopes that it will not worsen.
Stephone Anthony however, is a bit different.
After a solid rookie season, he clearly regressed in play this year. To Anthony’s credit, he owned up to his poor play when publicly questioned by coach Sean Payton.
These are three players that are vital to the Saints future, not only for their play on the field, but as team leaders as well.
Ingram has admitted that he must work on keeping his emotions in check a bit better, and the competitive fire he plays with should be something to admire. The Saints have great leaders in Brees, Evans, and Cam Jordan; and players like Cooks would benefit a great deal from soaking in the example those men set.
Which brings us to the next Christmas wish on our list…
