2016 TEAM MVP –DREW BREES, QUARTERBACK

There is probably not a single player who means more to his team, or region, than number #9 and the future Hall of Fame quarterback for the Saints, in Drew Brees.

There has now been 9 seasons that an NFL quarterback has thrown for over 5,000 yards in a single season, and Brees owns FIVE of them.

Brees finished 2016 with 5,208 passing yards (4th all time) on 70% completion percentage, 37 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and two rushing scores.

Brees — who turns 38 the Sunday after this one — at times saw the field better than he ever has, and seemed rejuvenated by playing with an extremely young receiving corps that is the most talented he’s had in his career.

Brees has proven to the naysayers that he still has plenty left to contribute to a football team, and will go down as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play this game.
