The New Orleans Saints host the Houston Texans on Monday night and should construct a gameplan that consists of a three-step system.

Man, are we excited for the New Orleans Saints to be back in action. We are so excited in fact that we are bringing you the fourth article previewing Week 1 against the Houston Texans. But don’t worry, all of them have been different.

We have explored which players will have the biggest impact (some of which you wouldn’t think of). We gave three bold predictions for the contest and even compared the two teams side-by-side in literally every manner, even going down to the kicking and punting.

What we have not really done is look at the game in a game-planning lens to breakdown what exactly the Saints have to do to win this ball game. They haven’t won in Week 1 since 2013, so you know Sean Payton and company really want this one.

And since we have one extra day of coverage, which sucks because we have to wait one more day to see them in action, we decided we would look at the game through that lens to determine what the Saints have to do in order to get the job done in Week 1.

Football is not a simple game and developing a full-fledged gameplan is anything but simple. But if we were to simplify it as far as it can go, this would be the three-step plan that we would recommend.
