The good: The Saints were able to pressure Deshaun Watson

One of the biggest keys to defeating the Houston Texans is to put the pressure on Deshaun Watson and hope that it leads to Watson not having a great game. While Watson still had a great game, the Saints were able to put pressure on him all night long.

The Saints finished the game with six sacks of Watson, giving New Orleans the most sacks of any team in Week 1.

Cameron Jordan let his presence be known by sacking Watson once, hitting him twice and recording five total tackles on the night. Trey Hendrickson led the way with two sacks while Alex Anzalone and P.J. Williams both had one.

This was a great sign for a Saints defense that looked to be middle of the road heading into this game. Although they were burned in the middle of the field and the secondary (which we will get to), the pass-rush was there against a Texans line that was supposed to be rebuilt.

The only reason this was just a good thing and not a great thing is the fact that Watson was still able to have himself quite the night.
