1. Jarrett Culver

Starting off with the player that has the best odds on this list, Jarrett Culver is a name to keep an eye on as a rookie that could exceed expectations. Culver did have some a strong following heading into the NBA Draft but still enters the year with 25/1 odds to win the Rookie of the Year.

The reason why Culver could win the award is he can do a little bit of everything. He was an above-average scorer and should at least be a good off-ball scorer for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The narrative is there though for Culver to be an impact player in all areas of the game. He has great basketball IQ and can be a great passer at the NBA level as well as being above average in rebounding at his position.

With Karl-Anthony Towns serving as the Timberwolves’ star, Culver does not anyone to get in the way of his productivity. He is pretty much going to have open reign to do what he pleases and develop as the year goes on, something that a player needs to win the Rookie of the Year award.

The Timberwolves have a decent amount of talent, too. While they probably won’t make the playoffs in the deep Western Conference, besting the team’s expectations and strong play could lead to Culver making the case.
