1. Contain Aaron Donald

This is definitely easier said than done but the number one priority for the New Orleans Saints in this game has to be containing Aaron Donald, the two-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year and arguably the most talented player in the entire NFL.

You cannot simply stop Aaron Donald, you have to contain him. Even he knows at this point that he is going to get doubled on most plays and even when he is not making an impact in the box score he is opening doors for the rest of the defensive line to succeed.

The problem for the Saints is that Donald did not make any sort of impact in the box scores in Week 1 so it feels as if he is destined for a massive game in Week 2. Donald recorded no sacks, just one tackle and just one quarterback hit against the Carolina Panthers, all numbers that are not typical of Donald.

It is going to be the responsibility of the interior lineman to contain him and the Saints are going to have to get creative in their blocking schemes to risk Donald getting ahead in any way, shape or form.

Donald will feed off of any mistake that his opposition makes and even one small mistake by the Saints’ offensive line could lead to a massive sack in a critical moment of the game.

Drew Brees is probably bound to get hit around a few times and even sacked by Donald. Don’t stress too much about completely neutralizing him, but he must be contained.
