The New Orleans Saints head to Seattle in Week 3 to square off with the Seahawks in the team’s first full game without Drew Brees.

Week 3 is going to be a good litmus test for the New Orleans Saints, at least for the next month and a half. This week presents the first full week that the Saints get to prepare a gameplan without Drew Brees that instead features Teddy Bridgewater and Taysum Hill.

Brees tore a ligament in his throwing thumb in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams and missed the rest of the game. Surgery on the torn ligament is going to keep Brees out of action for at least the next six weeks.

Bridgewater was just thrown to the wolves in Week 2 with a gameplan that was designed for Brees against a pass-rush that was outclassing the Saints’ offensive line all day. It was not a recipe for success for Bridgewater, and now, we are going to get a better indication of the level of play for the Saints.

Stylistically, the Seattle Seahawks are not that bad of an opponent to come up against in the first week without Brees. However, the problem is that the Saints have to play in Seattle, which makes this game that much more difficult.

Some players are going to thrive in this situation, others are going to be victims of circumstance. Here are two New Orleans Saints players that will thrive in Week 2 and one that will struggle.
