3. Coaching

It feels weird to say this but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in really good hands with their coaching. After surviving an ugly tenure with Dirk Koetter as head coach, Bruce Arians has now taken over the reins of the Bucs.

And in case you did not know, Bruce Arians is a really good head coach. Arians won the AP Coach of the Year after going 9-3 as an interim head coach with the Indianapolis Colts and made an Arizona Cardinals team way better than they had any business being.

After literally sitting on the sidelines for one year in a brief retirement, Arians decided to come back to coach the Bucs and the results are evident. While they have not been perfect, the Bucs look like a competently coached team for the first time in what feels like forever.

Arians is 60-35-1 in his career as a head coach. Koetter went 19-29 as head coach of the Buccaneers.

It does not stop at Arians though as the Bucs’ offense has been in good hands under Arians and run game coordinator, Harold Goodwin. Tampa Bay actually has a running attack this season.

Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles was pretty poor as the head coach of the New York Jets but has found his footing again as a coordinator and is coaching the NFL’s leading defense against the run.
