The LSU football team won easily on Saturday with a 42-6 win over the Utah State Aggies and are heading into the most important stretch of the year.

The LSU football team is just so dang good and so dang fun to watch this season. The Tigers put on another show for their fans on Saturday with a definitive 42-6 win over Utah State.

Granted, the team were 27-point favorites entering this game but the domination they displayed showed how good of a team they are.

The defense was stellar, holding Utah State to just six points against quarterback Jordan Love, who has grown a lot of buzz for being one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft. Love completed half of his passes for no touchdowns and three interceptions.

Meanwhile, LSU’s strong quarterback who has made himself a household name, Joe Burrow, continued on his unprecedented tear, throwing for 344 yards for five touchdowns while also adding a rushing touchdown.

LSU already has a big ranked win under its belt with a win over Texas but now really has the chance to prove that they are not only a team that is capable of making the College Football Playoff but a team that is capable of winning it all.

The first challenge is next week in the Florida Gators. The Gators were ranked 10th heading into this week and after a 24-13 win over seventh-ranked Auburn, is going to be very similar in the rankings to LSU.

Both teams are hopefuls for the College Football Playoff that need some big wins on their resume to get there. Florida has a big win over Auburn, LSU a big win over Texas. This game is important.

LSU then gets a bit of a break against a lesser team in the Mississippi State Bulldogs before hosting Auburn. If LSU is able to win against Florida at home then they should be able to beat Auburn at home.

However, Auburn is still a ranked opponent that could upset an SEC foe with a tough game. This is absolutely is a losable game for the Tigers with a win narrowly helping their cause while a loss would drastically hurt their cause.

Then we have the November 9 game that every LSU football fan has circled on their calendars. The Tigers go into Alabama as they look to prove that they are the real deal and they can not only hang with Bama but can beat them.

Depending on how the rest of the teams play out, LSU could finish with one loss on their record and as long as that one loss was a close road loss to Alabama then they absolutely could get into the College Football Playoff.

If they beat Florida, Auburn and Alabama then they are a virtual lock, regardless of what happens in the final three weeks of the season. If they beat one of Florida or Auburn while also beating Alabama then as long as they finish with one loss they should be just fine.

These next four games are going to determine if the Tigers are legitimate contenders for the National Title or if we are going to have to settle for a high-profile bowl game that simply does not mean as much.
