New Orleans Saints: Three keys to overcome the Jacksonville Jaguars
By Jason Reed
The New Orleans Saints head to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars in Week 6 needing to avoid what could be deemed as a trap game for the team.
After winning three in a row without Drew Brees, two of which coming against NFC playoff teams, the New Orleans Saints are riding high. The first seed in the NFC is now a legitimate conversation and the injury that was thought to derail the team has not done so whatsoever.
The team’s fourth game without Brees is back on the road, this time in Jacksonville as the team takes on the Jaguars. Out of the four games thus far, this game is easily the one that fans feel the most comfortable with.
The Jaguars were not a playoff team a year ago and are not coming off of a 55-point showing against the defending NFC Champions. Heck, they too are on their backup quarterback, although Gardner Minshew has taken the world by storm.
All of those reasons to be confident in this game feed into it being a trap game as well. With the Chicago Bears next week, there is the danger of the Saints looking past the easier opponent, leading to a road loss.
It happens all the time in the NFL, hence why we have a designated name for the phenomenon. If the New Orleans Saints are going to avoid trap game peril, they are going to have to execute these three keys.
