3. Quarterback play

Gardner Minshew has taken the NFL by storm after filling in for an injured Nick Foles, who broke his collarbone against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1. While Bridgewater has been good for the Saints, it has been Minshew that has been getting all of the backup quarterback praise this season.

Minshew came out and had a great game in a losing effort against the Chiefs. However, nobody really knew if he was yet the real deal as the Chiefs are notorious for having one of the worst secondaries in the NFL.

His next three games were all good, not great. He averaged 210 yards per game with five passing touchdowns. He was fantastic last week against the Carolina Panthers, however, with 374 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Minshew has a confidence about him that has rejuvenated this Jaguars team. It has gotten to the point where it is a legitimate discussion of whether or not Foles should even be the starting quarterback when he returns.

Most importantly about Minshew, and this is where the Saints are going to have to get him, is that he does not throw the ball away. He has just one interception in 165 attempts, which came in his first game against the Chiefs.
