4. Terrell Suggs

Terrell Suggs is an interesting case to consider as there has been no trade talk whatsoever around him leading into the NFL Trade Deadline. He just signed his new contract with the Arizona Cardinals, so it would be understandable if the team did not want to move on yet.

However, considering that the Cardinals are likely not going to make the postseason this year, the team might realize that now is the time to get the most value out of Suggs. He is still playing well and has a second year on his contract that also has an out, which is valuable for these teams.

Even at 37 years old, Suggs is still a productive linebacker. Heck, he was a Pro Bowler two seasons ago and last season he recorded seven sacks with 13 tackles for loss.

Suggs already has three and a half sacks this year, again adding to the question of why the Cardinals would want to deal him in the first place? Well, if you have a contending team like the Saints that are willing to pay in draft assets, it becomes easier to trade that solid player.

Again, like every other area of the roster, the Saints do not have a pressing need with their linebackers. They have some very solid linebackers and are led by Demario Davis.

There is always room for improvement and adding Suggs into the linebacker rotation as a passing downs backer would be enough to justify this trade. It still won’t cost that much, as he is 37, but it has to be something to convince the Cardinals.

I would say a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and a fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft would be plenty to convince the Cardinals.
