One week after his best showing as starting quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, Teddy Bridgewater is primed for his worst start in Week 6.

Teddy Bridgewater has been great for the New Orleans Saints thus far and has led the team to a 3-0 record in games that he has started with Drew Brees out.

Bridgewater was a game-manager in the first two weeks. He was not bad, but he did not particularly win the game for the team. Alvin Kamara won the game in Week 3 and the defense won the game in Week 4.

Week 5 was different, however, as Bridgewater had his best game yet as a starter and looked like the Pro Bowl version of himself. Bridgewater finished the day with 314 passing yards and four touchdowns: most of which coming from a beautiful connection with Michael Thomas.

Thomas had his best game of the year thus far, hauling in 11 receptions for 182 yards and two touchdowns.

It is safe to say that fans are more confident in the Saints after Bridgewater’s fantastic showing. In fact, SB Nation’s Canal Street Chronicles runs a really cool Fan Pulse survey that actually shows that Saint fans’ confidence is up 13 percent from last week.

That confidence may dip back down after this week, as after his best week as starting quarterback, Tedy Bridgewater is primed for his worst week.

There are multiple factors going into this testament. First, the team is likely going to be without its motor: Alvin Kamara. Kamara was limited in practice on Thursday with an ankle injury and did not participate at all on Friday. He is questionable for Sunday.

Latavius Murray will pick up the load for Kamara if he out. Murray is definitely talented, but he is not the weapon that Kamara is and Murray has not had much of a role at all in the offense in recent weeks.

After carrying the ball six times for 43 yards in Week 1, Murray has just 51 yards on 18 carries (2.8 yards per carry) and four receptions for 28 yards. He has no touchdowns since Week 1.

He will probably look better than 2.8 yards per carry with an increased workload but for a team that already wasn’t using Kamara for more than 17 carries per game, it is hard to see Murray have a game-swinging performance.

Another facet in the equation is the Jaguars’ defensive line. The defensive line is one of the strongest areas of the team and can get to the quarterback. They rank sixth in quarterback sacks and when they are firing on all cylinders they are truly disruptive.

The team had nine sacks against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3. New Orleans has a much better offensive line, but it shows the kind of big game that the Jaguars’ defensive line can have.

And of course, it does not get any easier if Jalen Ramsey plays in this game. Ramsey is still questionable for the game but is set to get back treatment after limited practice all week.

Even without Ramsey, the Jaguars have A.J. Bouye to defend Michael Thomas and the rest of the secondary certainly can pick up the slack on the rest of the Saints’ receiving corps.

If we bundle all of that together and put the proverbial bow, that Bridgewater is going to be on the road, then we have an equation that looks to have a bad result for the New Orleans Saints.

Next. Cheap trade targets to consider. dark

But hey, Bridgewater has proved a lot of people wrong thus far and hopefully, he can do the same to us.
