The New Orleans Pelicans are back on the road again as they get ready to square off against the Oklahoma City Thunder for the second time this season.

The New Orleans Pelicans were home for just one game as the team is set to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Oklahoma City the day after Thanksgiving.

The Thunder and Pelicans have already squared off once this season and it was the former that was victorious. The Thunder didn’t just beat the Pelicans, they beat them rather steadily, 115-104.

The Pelicans are also looking to stop their losing streak as well. After winning three in a row, the Pelicans have since lost three in a row against the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers. They trailed the Jazz all game and were blown out against the Clippers.

However, against the Lakers, the Pelicans came out red-hot in the first quarter and scored 38 points in the 12-minute frame. The shooting ended up cooling off but the Pelicans were still in it at the end of the game, losing by four when it was all said and done.

Those are the kind of losses that you can take positives away from. Those are the kind of losses against a 16-2 team that you can be okay with.

If the Pelicans give the same performance and effort against the Thunder as they did the Lakers then they should be able to even the season series at one apiece. If so, the Pelicans don’t have to wait long to take the season advantage, as they host the Thunder on December 1.

According to the Action Network, the New Orleans Pelicans are four-point underdogs in this game. Here is our against the spread prediction with that in mind.

Against the spread prediction (Record: 6-9-1): New Orleans Pelicans +4

Like the Pelicans, I have been on a losing streak in this series. I had faith in the team against the Clippers and they were routed, I then had no faith in the team against the Lakers and they nearly won.

In this one, despite being the road team, I have to go with the Pelicans and the points. While I think there is a good chance that the Pelicans do not win this game, I cannot fathom betting the Thunder as four-point favorites over a team that has shown that they can be red-hot.

If the Pelicans can start this game as they did against the Lakers then I have no concerns whatsoever. Even if they lose, they should be able to stay within four.

Next. Positive signs the Pelicans showed against the Lakers. dark

However, if the shots are bricking early on then it is going to be another long betting day.
