New Orleans Saints: The two things that could lead to a loss vs. the 49ers
By Jason Reed
The New Orleans Saints are entering the most important game of the season in Week 14 and have several reasons to worry against the San Francisco 49ers.
The New Orleans Saints have played some pretty big games this season and have overcome every single obstacle thrown their way, all leading up to this Week 14 showdown against the San Francisco 49ers.
This is about as important as a head-to-head matchup can be for a team that clinched their division on Thanksgiving. Both the 49ers and Saints enter this matchup with 10-2 records and the winner of this game will be in a good position to have home-field advantage in the playoffs.
Both teams still need to get past the Seattle Seahawks as well but the New Orleans Saints already have the tiebreaker over Seattle because of their head-to-head win. Having the tiebreaker over both the 49ers and Seahawks, with a presumed one-game lead over San Francisco, is a great place to be in with three weeks to go.
This will truly tell us how good the 49ers are as well. The 49ers have been impressive and have a signature win this season over the Green Bay Packers but have beat up on a lot of bad teams. Their two losses are to Seattle and Baltimore, albeit both games were close.
A lot of people like the Saints in this game, including us. However, despite having home-field advantage, there are some significant worries around the Saints leading into this game that could lead to a loss.
