New Orleans Pelicans: Betting guide vs. Milwaukee Bucks
By Jason Reed
The New Orleans Pelicans have been one of the worst teams in the league and have to take on a daunting challenge in the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.
This season has been disastrous for the New Orleans Pelicans and the team may have missed its chance to stop the bleeding with the current losing streak in the last game against the Detriot Pistons.
The Pistons presented the best chance to stop the losing streak before it reached double-digits and after losing, chances are it will continue for multiple games because of the team’s upcoming schedule.
Sure, they could surprise us, but they have done nothing to make us think that they will surprise us this season.

The first big challenge comes on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks, who alongside the Los Angeles Lakers, has been the best team in the NBA this season. The Bucks are 21-3 this season and just two games ago routed the highly-touted Los Angeles Clippers in a 28-point victory.
The Pelicans lost via a Derrick Rose buzzer-beater against the Pistons and haven’t really even been close in most of their recent losses. They set a franchise record with a 46-point loss to the Mavericks, lost by seven to the Suns and also lost to the Mavericks by 21.
These recent trends, mixed with the fact that Zion Williamson still has not returned from surgery and probably won’t until the calendar turns, has led to what can only be described as a disappointment.
The Bucks are rightfully massive favorites in this game against the Pelicans. According to the Action Network, the Bucks enter this contest as 13.5-point favorites at home, which might even seem too low.
Against the spread prediction (Record: 10-11-1): Detroit Pistons -13.5
I started the year off pretty poorly in this series but during this losing streak, I committed to betting against the New Orleans Pelicans and the spread in every single game until the losing streak was snapped. Even if they cover, I will continue to ride this streak, and so far, it has been working.
That is why a 13.5-point spread is not scaring me away from the Bucks in this game when in all honesty, it probably should. There still is the possibility of the Pelicans heating up from beyond the arc and simply shooting themselves into a close game with the Bucks.
However, with a lack of size, it is hard for me to imagine that the Pelicans will even come close to stopping Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is on another terrorizing path to winning the MVP.
Do I think that the Pelicans could cover this spread against the Bucks? Yes, of course. Do I think they have any chance of actually winning this game? Not at all.
